Ginger finely chopped – 1 tbsp

Garlic - 3-4 cloves finely chopped

Egg - 1 nos

Bread Crumbs – 1 – 1/2 cups

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Coriander Leaves finely chopped – 2 tbsp

Mint leaves finely chopped - 1 tbsp

Marinate for the beef

Chilly Powder – 1 tbsp

Coriander powder – 2 tbsp

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Meat Masala powder – 2 tbsp

Pepper powder – 1 tbsp

Cinnamon – 1 stick

Step 1:

Wash and clean the beef thoroughly. Cut them into chunks, marinate them with the marinate ingredients and pressure cook for about 7-8 whistles or till soft and tender.

Step 2:

When cooled down, in a food processor, process them to mince it. Keep it aside. n a hot pan, add some oil. when hot, crack some mustard seeds.

To this add the onions, ginger, garlic, green chilies, coriander and mint leaves and saute well. When onion get translucent, add in the salt. To this add the minced meat and mix well , till water content is evaporated.

Step 3:

Allow the mixture to cool. When at room temperature, add the egg and bread crumbs and mix well with your hands.

Step 4:

Roll out a portion, approximately the size of a tennis ball , and then flatten as much as you can with your palms. Make it thin.

You need to be careful at this stage as the flattened patties could break. Should be very gentle while placing the flattened patties on to a tray.

Step 5:

In a hot pan, add some oil. Place these patties gently and fry them on both sides till golden brown.

Step 6:

Serve hot with sauce or make a great sandwich or burger of your choice. Note : You could prepare them before hand and store them in the freezer. Thaw them and fry when you need.

A quick sandwich fill for busy mornings…..
